My Party Makeup Look Spring 2017

Hi chappes,

Apologies again for not posting on Wednesday I was away on a trip for a few days but now I'm back! Some of my most popular posts are my makeup routines - so this time I wanted to share 'My Party Makeup Look'. It's full coverage, long lasting and sparkly.

Face:

As I will applying a lot go makeup I always start with a good base so Nivea Soft Moisturiser and a good primer usually Benefit Porefessional Primer.
Then I usually apply 2 foundations - L'Oreal Total Cover Foundation and Revlon Colourstay Foundation, to get the best of both formulations and coverage. And as I apply makeup in layers it lasts much longer as well as doesn't look cake.
And then I mix Collection Lasting Perfect Concealer and Miss Sporty Concealer to add extra coverage to dark circles and spots. I do this on the daily as mentioned on my Everyday Makeup as I love both formulations.
Of course I have to set my face with the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder -  This powder is great at keeping my makeup on all day and as it has no colour there will be no orange line around my face! ;)
To bronze and sculpt my face - on my cheekbones, down my nose and on my jaw line, I use the Benefit Hoola Bronzer as it slightly darker. So a more defined contour and more bronzed look and i usually blend the bronzer up and use as a blush.
To finish off the face I use my Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette highlight - 'Champagne Truffle' to add glow on my cheekbones.

Eyes and Brows:

I always have to start with a base to get rid of any veins or lines on my lids so I love the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Creme De Nude - it’s a long wearing base which is very pigmented.
The eyeshadow I have been reaching for when I go to a party is the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette as it has a range of lovely shades - browns, golds and shimmers.
I would feel like me if I wasn't wearing winged eyeliner and at the moment I’m using the Maybelline Super Precise Eyeliner which is good and easy to use especially to create my wing.
Then to finish off the eye I use my favourite mascara in the whole world - L’Oreal Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara - it adds lots of length and volume as well as curls. Its just AMAZING I cant rave enough about this mascara. And when you an extra layer it create massive false like lashes.

Parties is normally the only time I do my brows - I don't do much usually just brush them through with Benefit Gimme Brow' as they keep their shape as well as add colour.

Lips:

I usually wear my fave lipstick MAC Velvet Teddy lipstick - it's a gorgeous long wearing, matte lipstick. The shade is AMAZING and it lasts all night long.

This is a small photo of this look - with a Snapchat filter of course!! ;)

I hope you like this post.

Ps. I just realised 10 minutes after I posted this that I haven't put Rimmel Stay Matte in the blog photos - Sorry!! X

What's In My Bag Spring 2017

Hi chappes,

Today I wanted to write a 'What's in my Bag' as i love reading these posts and I haven't written one in months. So I wanted to write an updated one.

I use my Topshop black rucksack for when I go out with my friends shopping as it has lots of room - for my purse, random stuff as well as the stuff I buy.

I love this Topshop rucksack has its practical and stylish and literally goes with everything.

In my bag I have:

My phone - which is a Phone 5s, I always have to have my phone with me for wither impromptu group selfies, social media as well as texting and calling people.

Purse - You always need some money/cards so you can buy things.

Concealer and a lipstick - For touch ups during the day so I don't look dead or bedraggled. And I use Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer  and the lipstick of that day usually something like NYX Soft Matte in Cannes or L'Oreal JLO nude lipstick.

Spray/Perfume -  I always love to smell nice so I do love to spray perfume at every opportunity. At the moment I love the Zoella Tutti Fruiti mini.

This is usually what I take with me sometimes a bit more, depends how long I'm out for e.g. sometimes for long car journeys I take my portable charger just incase!

Hope you like this post.

The One Lovely Blog Award

Hi chappes,

A few days ago I was lucky enough to be nominated by Ana from the blog Falling For A for the 'One Lovely Blog Award'. So thank you Ana! I do realise I have recently done a tag, but I love writing them and it's amazing to be recognised and to know that people like my blog.

The rules:
So once you're nominated, you must write a post about the award which consists in sharing 7 facts about yourself, your readers don't know.
Nominate as many bloggers as you like (max 15) to do the tag as well and let them know you've nominated them. So here we go!
1. I love shopping- One of favourite hobbies is shopping whether that's makeup or clothes.
Which can link in my second one..

2. I'm can be quite indecisive - When I go shopping I have to ask at least 2 peoples opinion before I but something. Or which makeup I look at 3 options I love before I go shopping as other wise I would literally be in a shop for about twice as long - just to must my ming up.

3. I probably watch too many Youtubers - I love youtube - my sister got me into it around 3 years ago it started with the SacconeJolys then Zoella and Tanya Burr - that number has grown ever since. It's part of my daily routine - 5pm PointlessBlogVlogs and 6pm SacconeJolys. And then every Youtuber seems to put up a video on Sundays so then you have to debate whether you watch Tanya Burr's video or Alfie's vlog?!

4. I easily get addicted to Tv shows - When I start watching a show and get addicted to it I only watch that show for weeks on repeat. So at the moment it's Glee - I have watched Glee for years but I seemed to have watched/listened to the same songs on Youtuber around 20 times. I can literally recite all the lyrics.

5. I love travelling- I love seeing new places and experiencing new cultures. I've been lucky enough to go to lots of different places and I have loved them all. In the future I would love to go to LA and Australia.

6. I don't really like reading - I'm not the biggest fan of reading, I struggle to sit and read chapters of a book. There are so many books I would love to read but I'm never mood to!

7. I love long haired chichiwawa and pugs - Even though I have two cats - I love the look of small gods like a chichiwawa or pug. I definitely would like one in the future

I nominate:

My Everyday Makeup Routine Spring 2017

Hi chappes,

Today I wanted to share my everyday makeup routine as it has changed slightly recently as well as I love writing these posts.

Face

I have been loving the L’Oreal Total Cover Foundation recently - the coverage is AMAZING, i love the formula and it has a shade light enough for my skin tone. I would highly recommend.
Recently I have love mixing my absolute fave concealer Collection Lasting Perfection with my Miss Sporty 24 hour concealer - as they both have great coverage. The only difference is the Miss Sporty one i slightly more yellow tone so is great under the eyes then the collection brightens the eyes as well as covering any blemishes.
Of course I have to set my face with the Rimmel Stay Matte powder - I don't thing I have used a different translucent pressed powder in years (i used the word pressed as I now I sometimes use the Collection loose powder!) This powder is great at keeping my makeup on all day and as it has no colour there will be no orange line around my face! ;)
To bronze and sculpt my face - on my cheekbones, down my nose and on my jaw line, I use the Rimmel Bronzer in Light, Matte. It’s a great natural shade - not orange toned and is quite subtle which is great for everyday.

I don’t really wear a specific highlighter day to day - I usually use the highlight shade in the eyeshadow palette I’m using ;)

Eyes

I always have to start with a base to get rid of any veins or lines on my lids so I love the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Creme De Nude - it’s a long wearing base which is very pigmented.
The eyeshadow I have been reaching for particularly at the moment is the Lancome Hyponse Doll Eye Shadow palette in DO1 “Fraicheur Rosée". This palette has 5 gorgeous pigmented shades in it - one base, one lid, one transition, one darker and one highlighter - everything you need in a palette. I’m literally obsessed with the lid colour - it soo nice.

Lips

I change my lipstick literally everyday - read this post:  https://hellochappes.blogspot.co.uk/2017/03/my-past-week-in-lipsticks-2.html to read what I have been wearing on my lips recently.

Hope you like this post.

My Past Week in Lipsticks #2

Hi chappes,

Hope you have all had a nice week. Today I wanted to share my week in lipsticks as my last one seemed popular and it also shows my go to lip products are the moment.

Monday
My favourite lipstick of mine  L’Oreal JLO Nude lipstick as on Mondays I go to my go to’s due to always being in a rush. This lipstick goes with any look so perfect just to throw on whilst finishing off my makeup.

Tuesday
Tanya Burr Lipgloss in ‘Lunch Date’ - this is a gorgeous nude lip gloss perfect for everyday but I love it wearing this time of year. The colour and formula is so nice and cant wait to wear it more throughout the summer.

Wednesday
For once it was sunny in England so I put on my Charlotte Tilbury ‘Kidman Kiss’ Lipstick, which is rose pink which reminds of spring.

Thursday
Sleek Matte Me in ‘Birthday Suit’ - I realised that I hadn't wore this lipstick in a while and when writing about for my ‘Best and Worst Liquid Lipstick’ post I thought I would give it a second chance, as it’s not my favourite formulation. I do have to say I did get complimented on my lip colour by one of my close friends but I still not a big fan of the finish and the slight tackiness.

Friday
I was so in love the finish and the colour of Tanya Burr Lipgloss in ‘Lunch Date’ on Tuesday I wanted to wear it again.

Saturday
NYX Soft Matte Cream in ‘Cannes’ - I mention this product a lot in my posts. I just love the colour as it a darker nude but still natural.

Sunday
I have quite a copper, bronze metallic eye so I wanted to darkish nude lip so I went for my Tanya Burr Lipstick in 'Pink Cocoa' which is a gorgeous pigmentation and colour

Hope you like this post.

My Blogging Kit Must-Haves

Hi chappes,

Today I wanted to share my blogging kit must haves which I have used over the past year.
As it may help others who are thinking of starting a blog or it could document how technology has changed or I have changed if I repeated this post in a year or longer.

Lights, Camera Action -

I use a Samsung NX3000 with 16-50mm Power Zoom lens and Flash (which unfortunately has been discontinued). It's a gorgeous camera and has a old fashioned look as well as it being 20.3 MP.And the boost the flip-out screen for taking selfies and you can move to adjust the angle. I would highly recommend Samsung camera. But I have heard great things about Canon cameras. But at first and sometimes I still use my iPhone 5s as it has a great camera and its easy to transfer.

I don't use anything special for my lighting - just natural light - and if its too dark I adjust it on my iPhone. Usually I add exposure and brightness.

For backgrounds - I either use plain A3 paper from the local craft shop or I found this marble print try at TK Maxx which makes a really nice backdrop. I try to add magazines, flowers or extras but I need to learn and improve how to add them so if you know how please can you comment or message me - as I would love to improve on that part of my photography.

Writing The Posts -

I write my blogs on my MacBook Air 11 inch - which is amazing as its so compact and moveable. I would highly recommend this laptop and I use Google Blogger which I find really easy to use.

Scheduling Aid-

When I'm really organised I write my ideas in a notebook especially for something like Blogmas but usually i either write them in my 'Notes' on my photo. Or most often - I just create drafts with the Titles of my ideas so they are record and later I can just write them.

I know I'm not the the best at blogging photography - but I hope this might help someone.

Hope you like this post.

My Travel Beauty Must-Haves

Hi chappes,

Today I wanted to share my travel beauty must haves as its coming up to the summer as well as I have been travelling a bit recently. These are just a couple of essentials that I take with me everywhere - for top ups or a simple look.

For the face I love the L'Oreal Total Over Foundation as it could double up as a foundation and concealer. As the matte finish and long wearing formula means I don't necessarily need a powder. But if I need a little extra coverage I will use the Collection Lasting Perfect Concealer .

For the eyes I would probably take a multitasking products probably the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette - as it was some gorgeous lid, crease  and highlight shades. And you could use the shade 'Tease' as a subtle contour colour.

For lips I would take my perfect nude which is the L'Oreal JLO Nude Lipstick - can go with every look and has a lovely formula.

For skincare - I usually take makeup wipes as it prevent cleansers leaking all of my stuff. I really like the Simple Cleansing Wipes as they aren't harsh on my skin and makes my skin feels soft.

Hope you like this post.

Please follow and comment your travel must haves.

The Blogger Recognition Award!

Hi chappes,

I was lucky to be nominated by Hannah from http://luxuryblush.blogspot.co.uk so I wanted to a massive thank you to her. As well as I wanted to highly recommend her blog - its AMAZING!!!

Give a brief story of how your blog started
Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers
Select up to 15 other bloggers you want to give this award to
Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them and provide a link to the post you created

Why I started blogging

I started my blog last February - because I had read blog posts for ages as well as watching youtube videos and I would have loved to be apart of that community. And I never had the confidence to start a blog for ages but last year I did. As well as I love makeup and I wanted to share my love of makeup and beauty with others.

Advice for new bloggers

1. Quality not quantity - It's taken me a along time to realise this. Before I wrote everyday and I felt like I didnt spend enough time on each post - but thats the only time I had. The photos were rushed and the posts had quite a few spelling mistakes. But since I started posting every other day I feel more proud of my blog.

2. It's okay to take a blog break - Taking small breaks from blogging can be amazing - creative restarts. As well as if you are holiday its great to enjoy your holiday then worrying about getting your posts up.

Makeup Collection: Moisturisers and Primers

Hi chappes,

Today I wanted to write the next part of my makeup collection- Moisturisers and Primer. Probably the most boring drawer but now of the most essential as what you use to primer and moisture your skin and effect the whole look and how it applies.

Nivea Soft Refreshing Soft Moisturising Cream

Nivea Creme

Clinque Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion +

Benefit Porefessional Primer

Benefit That's Gal Primer

MAC Prep + Prime

Rimmel Fix & Protect Primer

I have seemed to have got quite a few minis - they are amazing for travel.

I would highly recommend all this products - they do differ in price range, both drugstore and high end.

Hope you like this post.

Please comment your favourite primer and follow.

My Top 5 Tips For Long-lasting Makeup

Hi chappes,

Today I wanted to share my 5 top tips for long-lasting makeup as I hate my makeup coming off in the middle of the day, these 5 tips have helped me keep my makeup on all day.

1. Apply Primer -
Applying a primer makes your makeup stay longer as well as disappearing pores. Applying primer also makes your skin smoother - so your foundation applies really nicely and flawless. I love the Benefit Porefessional Primer.

2. Apply Foundation in Layers -
I've recently found out this tip - applying layers of foundation really helps your makeup stay on. So apply thin layers as if one thin layer comes off - there is still a layer underneath. And this technique prevents caking and creates a flawless build able coverage look. Beauty blender makes this technique easy.

3. Apply Eye Shadow Primer -
Primer prevents your eyeshadow stay all day as its annoying when 2 hours after applying eyeshadow it creases or transfers. This prevents any creasing and makes your eyeshadow last all day the way it was when you applied. I would highly recommend the Urban Decay Primer Potion.

4. Apply a Loose Powder -
I find the fine loose powder makes my makeup stay on all day. Baking with loose powders especially makes my foundation stay on all day. I would recommend the Collection Loose powder as a drugstore one.

5. Apply Makeup Setting Spray -
When I know I have a long day or on nights out I apply a setting spray and it makes my makeup stay for ages. And is it just me but apply a setting spray feels really refreshing on the skin. I love the Urban Decay Setting Spray or a drugstore alternative the MUA one.

Hope you like this post.
