Goodbye 2016, Hello 2017

Hi chappes,

So today I wanted to write a "Goodbye 2016, Hello 2017" post - I was inspired to write this post after one of Zoella Christmas videos and I loved it so i wanted to write a similar one.

2016

This past year has had it up and downs - globally and personally. So I wanted to share my 5 top memories of this year;

1. Canada
2.Prom
3. Adele Concert
4. Starting this blog
5. Christmas

2017

My New Years Resolutions for 2017 are:

1. Exercise More - at the beginning of the 2016 I was in a really good routine, but recently not really. So i would love to be in a routine again and lose weight.

2. Eat Healthy - as Christmas time has meant there have been quite a lot of chocolates and lots of food. So I want to get in a good eating routine and trying to eat healthier - with some veggie days etc.

3. Gain more confidence - I am rather a shy person and rather my self confidence isn't the best. So I would love to gain more confidence - I don't know how but I would love too.

I only have 3 resolutions this year due to I would probably read them.

Hope you like this post

Blogmas 23: Christmas Cupcakes

Hi chappes,

I can't believe its already day 23 - so Christmas Eve Eve. I've seemed to write quite a few food posts this Blogmas - hope you don't mind. I love baking this time of year with all the festive recipes as well as the time due to the Christmas holidays.
I thought these Christmas Cupcakes would be a great addition to a Christmas party or a quick alternative for a Christmas pudding.

Ingredients

Cake

110g/4oz Butter or Margarine
110g/4oz Sugar
2 Free-Range Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
110g/4oz Self Raising Flour
1-2 tbsp Milk

Icing
140g/5oz butter, softened
280g/10oz icing sugar

Decorations
White Fondant Icing
Green Icing
Red Pen Writing Icing

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4 and line a 12-hole muffin tin with paper cases.

2. Cream the butter and sugar together in a bowl until pale. Beat in the eggs a little at a time and stir in the vanilla extract.

3. Fold in the flour using a large metal spoon, adding a little milk until the mixture is of a dropping consistency. Spoon the mixture into the paper cases until they are half full.

4.  Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until golden-brown on top and a skewer inserted into one of the cakes comes out clean. Set aside to cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the tin and cool on a wire rack.

5. For the buttercream icing, beat the butter in a large bowl until soft. Add half the icing sugar and beat until smooth.

6. Then add the remaining icing sugar with one tablespoon of the milk, adding more milk if necessary, until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

7. Place the icing in a piping bag with star shaped nozzle. Then pipe from the outside in - round in circle then create point in the centre.

8. I used left over ivy from the christmas cake I made but all they are white fondant icing with green icing then I used a ivy stamp fromm the local cooking store. The red dots of holly were from a red  icing  pen which you can find in your local supermarket.

And finally enjoy!!!

Blogmas 21: 5 Things I Love About Winter

Hi chappes,

Today is the 21st of December which means it's the first day of winter. So i wanted to share 5 things I love about the winter season.

1. Christmas - I love Christmas, the atmosphere, food, the giving and receiving of presents and seeing family and friends. Christmas is my favourite event of the year

2. Start of 2017! - In this season we will say goodbye to 2016 and say hello 2017. I do have to admit this year has had quite a few ups and downs - personally and globally.

3. Holidays - Christmas means the Christmas holidays - so lay-ins, shopping and movies. However also quite a bit of revision and homework.

4. Snow - Well there usually isn't snow in the Uk but it would be nice if there was some snow.

5. Winter clothing - warmer clothing - jumpers as well as hats and gloves. And means more shopping for a new winter wardrobe.

Hope you like this post.

This Food Quiz Will Tell You Which Christmas Movie You Should Watch

You got: Miracle on 34th Street!

Get a little emotional watching this lovely and heartwarming 1994 remake of the ’30s film, even if at one point you find yourself shouting “WHY DOES NOBODY BELIEVE HE’S SANTA??!” at the TV.
20th Century Fox
